- What does Self-Service mean? Will a staff member help me check-in?- Self-service is a new trend in hospitatility that focuses on ease and efficiency of the guest. There is no need to check-in at a front desk as the whole process is handled electronically. - Three days prior to your stay, you will recieve a unique and secure code that will grant you access to your room for the length of your reservation. 
- What if something comes up mid-stay?- Not a worry! All details of how to check-in and access your rooms will be sent via email and text 3 days before your reservation. If any problem occurs during your stay, just respond back to the email or text to notify our staff. 
- Can I request a mid-stay clean?- Yes! For short-term stays that are less than a week, a mid-stay clean can be added to your reservation for a fee. ($60 for Family and Executive Suites, $40 for Standard and Standard Plus Rooms.) - For longer stays, our cleaning staff offers weekly room refreshes and cleanings that are built into your price. You also have the option to add additional cleanings for a fee. ($60 for Family and Executive Suites, $40 for Standard and Standard Plus Rooms.) 
- Are all rooms located on the 2nd floor?- Yes. Because of the historic renovation to the building, our ADA accommodations are limited. There is no elevator on the premise and all floors are located on the second floor. 
- Where do I park my car when I stay?- We have plenty of overnight parking on the side streets right outside the door of The DeFord on N and S Hickory Street. You can also park overnight on N and S Locust Street. 
- I am interest in a multi-week or multi-month lease. How do I book?- Perfect! We accommodate many types of stays from multi-week to multi-month to a multi-year lease. For more information, please email hello@the-deford.com. 
- I am getting married! Can I reserve a wedding block of rooms??- Yes! We do offer room blocks, but only with a 10% non-refundable deposit paid at the time of booking. - Once secured, we’ll provide a unique link for your guests to book directly. While the link is active, these rooms will be held exclusively for your party. - Prefer not to reserve a block? - We can instead provide a special wedding discount code for 10% off your guests’ stays. - Please email hello@the-deford.com to get started. 
- What is the cancellation policy?- We understand plans can change, so here’s how our cancellation policy works: - 14 days or less before arrival → The full stay will be charged, including no-shows or early departures. - 14–29 days before arrival → 50% of your reservation will be charged. - 30+ days before arrival → You’ll receive a refund minus the 10% non-refundable deposit. - To cancel, just send us an email at hello@the-deford.com - with your reservation number.
